A eight week nature-based mental wellbeing programme in Snowdonia, facilitated by Dr Mary-Anne Pasteur and Dr Elizabeth Burnside.

 

By combining engagement with the natural world with expert guidance in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy from clinical psychologists, this eight-week group programme is designed to improve your psychological flexibility, enhance mindfulness, and develop a deeper connection to the natural world.

 

ACT is a scientifically researched therapy similar to cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), which aims to help people manage difficult thoughts and emotions more effectively and find more meaning and fulfilment in everyday life. Mind and Mountain Psychology combines Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) with nature-based activities to improve people’s wellbeing and sense of purpose.

 

The Mind in Nature programme will give you the chance to step outside your usual thought patterns, see new possibilities, and find clarity about what is important to you.

What should I expect?

Every week, the group will meet in Glasinfryn Village Hall. This is where we will explore the principles of ACT. Sessions will include experiential exercises and techniques as well as reflective group discussion. You will be encouraged, but not expected, to share your experiences and feelings. Hot drinks and snacks will be available.

Parts of each session will be spent outside in the embrace of nature, which is proven to enhance our sense of wellbeing, clarity, and purpose.
